"Where are your seeds?"

As they prepare to go to church every Sunday a vase number of people across the country rise and take the same journey in different locations. Religion is a big part of not only American life but also human life in general. Many seek religious counselors when they find themselves in the midst of tough decisions or impending circumstances.
In Matthew Chapter 13 a multitude of people followed Jesus, as they often did, seeking His teachings and wisdom. Jesus began to share a truth that I thoroughly believe still applies today! He shared with the crowd the parable of the “sower and the seeds.” He began to explain to the people how seeds which are symbolic here of God’s word and truth are sowed and land on different territories. The sower in the story symbolizes the Son of Man, Jesus himself (vs.37) and today The Sower is our pastor or minister who deliver the “Seeds” of His word.
In Verses 4 - 9 Jesus describes the different territories of ground in which seed of “THE WORD” can fall; this brings me to the question, Where are your seeds?

1.  On the wayside (v4) When you hear God’s word, do you hold on to it or simply shrug it off and cast it aside as if it is of no use to you?
      2. On stony ground (v5) When you hear God’s word, do you retain what you have heard and plant it deep within your heart or do you just leave it on the surface of your thoughts only to wither away because it has not been rooted?
      3. On thorny ground (v7) When you hear God’s word, do you cherish it with all your might or just until “prickly” trials come your way and choke it?
      4. On good ground (v8) When you hear God’s word, do you plant it deep within your heart and allow it to saturate your being and to later spring up and bring forth fruits of patience, productivity, positivity and more?
So next Sunday or the next time you venture out to the “vineyard” (church) to gather “seeds” (hear the Word of God), remember once you get your seeds, plant them firmly in the good ground of your heart and allow the fruit produced to help you reap eternal life.
 Think about it.
