Seasons Change

Thus far in the year of 2012 if anything as been unpredictable, it has been the weather. The month of January we saw 80 degree weather. March was rainy even though the old saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” April was filled with tornado's and cold blasts of unexpected winds and temperature drops. September varied anywhere from chilly mornings to heat-exhausting afternoons. If you don’t believe there’s a God, explain the weather to me. Better yet, I dare you to try and predict it.
Try as we might, we as humans have no idea what the weather will be like from one day to the next. It doesn’t matter how many degrees you have in meteorology; there is no way you can 100% predict the forecast. No man can say that he can do this, only God. HE is in complete control. Leviticus 26:4 says, “Then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”  He said to them in Acts1:7, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority.”
Much like seasons change in the natural, they do so in the spiritual, mental, and emotional. There will often be rainy seasons in our lives as well as sunny times. A seasonal change in your life can be the transitioning to a new job, moving to a new city, or even ending a relationship. When seasons change, it’s important for us to know how to and be willing to change with them. You wouldn’t go out into a rainstorm without an umbrella or wear winter clothes in the dead of summer, would you?  Then likewise when life’s season change, make the needed adjustments to cope.
Here are some ways to cope with life-changing seasons.
1.    Have faith in God.  Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised if faithful. In times when the unexpected takes place, remember God’s promises are sure even when it seems nothing else is.
2.    Don’t get weary.  Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” If your life’s seasons get trying, remember trying times are times to keep trying.
3.    Stand on the wordI Peter 1:24-25 says, “Because, all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass, the grass withers and its flowers fall away. But the word of the Lord endures forever.” So when your seasons change remember God’s word doesn’t and neither does He.
4.    THINK ABOUT IT!
